The Great Council of Jaehaerys Targaryean is held to decide the heir to the elderly king. The lords of Westeros ultimately decide on Jaehaerys’ grandson Viserys. This outrages Viserys’ cousin Rhaenys, the daughter of Jaehearys’ first-born son, who believes that she has a stronger claim to the throne.
